Remember Why You Started

Honestly I think this is something both students and clinicians should keep in mind when things get rough (and boy oh boy will they get rough)

There is a lot of uncertainty in the air right now for EVERYONE. Even without a global pandemic, doubt will creep into our minds:

1. Will I get a job?

2. What if I donโ€™t like OT?

3. Iโ€™m not good enough

4. What if I fail?

โฃ

My biggest piece of advice is instead of focusing your mind, time and energy on these doubts, focus on your WHY

Why did you start OT? What is the passion driving you behind those late nights, intense practicals and clinicals?

I use to write my โ€œwhyโ€ on my computer, sticky notes, as a background on my phone - pretty much anywhere until my โ€œwhyโ€ OVERPOWERED my doubts โฃ

I encourage you to take the time today to identify your WHY and be intentional in focusing on it in times of doubt and uncertainty- let it fill you up and make your heart full ๐Ÿ’ž
